The Shires has a long and successful history in Peatling Parva, attracting families from across the area with its reputation of hearty, homemade food and a pub full of rustic charm.
Roseacre Pub Company purchased The Shires in summer 2025, an exciting chapter for us as it’s our first outright owned pub.
This gives us total freedom over everything we do at The Shires, and we are excited to offer something to our other pubs in the area.
With a £350,000 refurbishment taking place throughout July, we can’t wait to open our doors in early August and welcome you to be part of the next chapter of The Shires.

We welcome you to come and sample our warm and caring hospitality. You will find lots of cosy corners for the winter and a sun-trap garden and terrace for the summer. We have created a little oasis of calm in a busy world; a chance to relax and escape from the pressures of life.
From light lunches to family gatherings, pit-stops with the dog or family outings with the kids, we provide a warm welcome for every food and drink occasion.

We pride ourselves on doing things well, whether it’s a perfectly poured drink, delicious coffee from Forge in Sheffield or creating delicious food using the very best ingredients.
We serve jolly good food with an exciting menu, midweek lunch deals, special treats and wholesome Sunday roasts. Children are welcome and can dine from our Kid’s menu. Our food is fresh, delicious, always plentiful and always great value.
